Grounding Sweatshirt

You own a sweatshirt you’d never wear outside. It’s warm, the neck is stretched into a loop, and there’s a logo across the chest you stopped caring about years ago. It stays in the house because it looks like something you gave up on. So you keep it for the floor, for cold mornings, for after a session, and then you change before you leave.

• OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified low-impact dyes (certificate 168252). Tested for harmful substances, which matters on a garment that spends hours against your skin.

Sizing, said plainly

Comfort Colors runs relaxed, and garment dyeing means it can shrink a little on a hot wash. If you’re between sizes and want a boxy fit that tucks at the front, take your normal size. If you want it properly oversized, the boyfriend-tunic kind of oversized, size up once. Not twice.

The honest part about a garment dyed sweatshirt

Garment-dyed colour isn’t uniform by design. Slight variation between pieces is the process working rather than a flaw, and the shade you get will be close to the photo rather than identical. There are no pockets. The cut is deliberately wide, so if you want a slim athletic sweatshirt that follows your shoulders and waist, buy something else — this one will read as sloppy on you and you’ll be annoyed.

Care, and how to wash a garment-dyed piece

Wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low or hang dry to keep the fit. Don’t iron directly on the print. Cold water is what keeps the dye deep and the body from shrinking up.
